"referencing the dense fabric of facade, balcony, and window prevalent in hong kong, shelving is composed on a grid." – andy bernheimer
our hong kong location, set in the iconic ifc mall, was designed by brooklyn-based architect andy bernheimer as an homage to the city’s 1970s architecture and the dense, old-school apartment buildings. the profusion of windows, balconies, bamboo scaffolding and air conditioning units is reflected in the utilitarian shelving throughout the store.
perforated metal gridding puts some products on display and hides others just out of sight. at the window stands a sculptural white modernist console – an elegant invitation to enter and explore the store.
